Blade Modification Function of KUKAI Key Cutting Machines

KUKAI key cutting machines – Alpha Pro, Beta and Beta Pro, both featuring Blade Modification function

 

Let me provide you with the details of this function:

1.1. Support to create width/thickness/left groove/right groove on S1 Jaw

1.2. Support to create Width of 80k-Series keys and K9 From LXP90 keys on S1 Jaw

1.3. Support most Blade Modification functions to S8 Jaw

1.4. Support to create Abus Xplus on S9-1 Jaw

 

Before creating the blade, please do calibration (S1, S8 jaw, no need to calibrate S9 jaw) firstly to avoid damaging jaw or waste key blanks.

Besides, it is recommended that you prepare a caliper to measure the value after creating!

1.) Create key head: Convert regular keys into flip keys for use with the universal remotes (2.0mm cutter);

After enter the modules, we can see default value here which can be used for some flip keys, but you can modify the value based on your needs.

2.) Create the width and thickness of metal keys (2.0mm cutter);

If the key blank is shorter than the jaw, it can be cut in one time! While if the key blank is longer than the jaw, you can select the option to cut extra 5 mm.

It means to cut 5 mm more out of the jaw’s lower edge if selected.

Note: Don’t cut a keyway with handle by this function, otherwise, it may damage cutter or even machine.

3.) Create circle on key head (optional 2.5mm cutter);

Let’s measure the circle position of original key blank like the picture shown

4.) Left groove / Right groove (2.0mm cutter);

5.) Create key tip (2.0mm cutter);

6.) Create groove (2.0mm cutter);

7.) Create middle groove on key side (optional 1.0mm cutter).

8.) Repair width of 80K-series keys (2.0mm cutter)

9.) Create K9 From LXP90 (2.0mm cutter)

10.) Create LX80 From LXP90 (2.0mm cutter)

11.) Create HY18 From KK12 / Create HY18R From KK12 (2.0mm cutter)

12.) Create 80K From LXP90 (2.0mm cutter)

13.) Create HON77 From HON66 (optional 1.5mm cutter)

14.) Create Abus Xplus (optional 1.0mm cutter)

Note: Debris must be cleaned from jaw & decoder & cutter.

 

What are the advantage of the blade modification function?

1. Create key head to convert regular keys into flip keys for use with the universal remotes;

2. Locksmith can create needed key blank based on similar key blank and will not lose jobs due to lack of key blank for emergency situation;

3. Convert special keys (thinner and single side TOY40) from regular keys (normal thickness LXP90) to save cost.
